TV on the Radio announce new album

This a real bolt from the blue. With the world under the impression that TV on the Radio were deep in hibernation, the Brooklyn five piece have announced the Spring release of their new album Nine Types of Light.

There are no further details, but keep tabs on their new website because the abruptness of this announcement suggests they have a great deal more up their sleeves. It seems the crafty beggars have been working through their hiatus. Unorthodox, but that’s exactly what they bring to music.

Does Dave Sitek ever take a bloody break? Since apparently putting TVotR on hold, he’s written a brilliant solo album as Maximum Balloon, played bass for Jane’s Addiction and dabbled sporadically elsewhere.

Which means he’s only enhanced his reputation as one of the music industry’s top producers and musicians. Expect Nine Types of Light to hit the heights of arguably 2008’s top album, Dear Science. Remind yourselves of the reason for this bold statement below.
