Gorillaz do iTunes session

Gorillaz have followed a number of bands to recently record a live session for iTunes. Strangely not choosing to promote their latest non-album single  ‘Doncamatic (All Played Out)’, Damon Albarn opted to go mainly for Plastic Beach standouts and a couple of classics in between.

Just like Beach House’s in August, this session sounds great. It’s well produced and sounds new and adapted enough to sound different to the originals.

I am a big fan of these sessions as they do what live youtube versions recorded with phones cannot come close to doing. They give you a taster of a live song with great sound quality. Plus, there is a nifty interview with the fictional members of the band, Murdoc and 2D.

Here’s the full tracklist:

01 Clint Eastwood
02 Dirty Harry
03 Feel Good Inc
04 Kids With Guns
05 Stylo
06 Glitter Freeze
07 On Melancholy Hill
08 Rhinestone Eyes
09 iTunes interview

Check out ‘On Melancholy Hill’, one of the songs of the year, to see what I mean.
