New Cut Copy: Where I’m Going

Aussie electro pop band Cut Copy have brought out the first taster of their so far unnamed third album. It’s called ‘Where I’m Going’ and first listens are giving off less of an electro sound than usual for them.

I’m hearing initial Arcade Fire influences here actually, although the more the song progresses the more the synths start to take over.

Cut Copy are calling this one a ‘good old chant’, which makes sense with their use ‘yeah’s and ‘oohs’ during the chorus, similar to how Muse created a chanting style for ‘Uprising’.

So there you go, I didn’t think we could compare Cut Copy to Arcade Fire and Muse, but thats the similarities I’m hearing on first listen.
