Mumford & Sons announce autumn UK Tour/ New Ep

The ever prospering London folk band Mumford & Sons are going on tour again in the UK this autumn. After a jam packed year off the back of their debut album Sigh No More, the quartet are running the festival rounds this summer, then starting their tour on October 1st in Glasgow.

Tickets are on presale now from for £18.50/£20 (London) and on general sale from Wednesday 30th June 2010. Remember when you could catch them at tiny venues for just over a fiver? Not any more, my friend.

In even more exciting news, to coincide with the tour, the band are releasing a limited edition EP called ‘Volume 1’ under their alter ego, ‘The Wedding Band’. Man, thinking about it, they would be such a brilliant wedding band. Though I still have my heart set on the Dan Band.

Anyway, the EP comprises of songs that are regularly heard played out on the band’s tour bus, but very rarely live on stage.

The 10″ EPs will be limited to 100 copies per show, and can only be bought via in conjunction with the purchase of gig tickets. Any remaining copies of the EP not sold through the pre-sale will be made available at the venues on the night at £7 each, through Gentlemen of the Road/Chess Club Records.

Mumford & Sons UK Tour:

1st October – The O2 Academy, Glasgow

2nd October – The Apollo, Manchester

5th October – Rock City, Nottingham

6th October – The O2 Academy, Bristol

8th October – HMV Hammersmith Apollo, London

I recommend you try to hear this song, and all the others, live before you die. I’ve seen them four times and already have a fifth lined up, they are that good.
