Jeuce have produced one hell of a cover of Logistic’s classic Kaleidoscope. We’ve covered these boysbefore and they keep turning up with the goods. Make sure you’ve got the bass turned up high because this has got a great wobbly number going throughout.
Also, to show how versatile they are, be sure to check out their new single Flavour where they’ve put down their synthesizers, picked up their guitars and warmed up their voices.

Both Don Diablo and The Chemical Brothers have been mentioned here in the last few days so here they are together. The Chems new single Swoon has been given a reworking by Dutch maestro Don Diablo and he’s really turned into a dancefloor smash.
First up is Here Comes the Boom; a dancehall/dubstep mashup that’s filled with tension and the sort of massive drop that we’ve come to love from these guys. White Satin – yes it really is a The Moody Blues cover – goes in a more electro route but still packs a punch. The classic lyrics are still in place and you can imagine it being effective at the end of a set.
Zeds Dead are in the UK this coming June, catch them here:
4 Jun THE SUMMER PROM @ BOXXED AND CUSTARD FACTORY Birmingham
8 Jun STEALTH ft. Zeds Dead, Xample, Lomax, Subscape, and Sigma Nottingham
9 Jun DIRTY NOTE @ TEKHLA FT. DJ ZINC, ZEDS DEAD, & MORE Bristol
11 Jun GOTTWOOD FESTIVAL Carreglwyd, Wales
12 Jun GOTTWOOD FESTIVAL Carreglwyd, Wales
18 Jun SNEAKY PETE’S ft. ZEDS DEAD & DUBIOUS Edinburgh
The critics’ darlings of 2009 usher in the summer with a suitably jangly, fuzzy, indie gem. Not much of a departure from that shoegaze sound that gained them all that hype, the hats are still well and truely tipped towards 1980’s British alt-poppers, but TPOBPAH make music so sweet and catchy it’s hard to really care.
Here’s a collection of stuff from the inbox over the past couple days. Excuse the quick descriptions but it’s May (read: essay hell).
Both Gorillaz and Don Diablo has been mentioned onthesepagesbefore so it seems fitting that they should be here together. The Dutchman has stepped up to remix the Gorillaz new single and gives the track a new leash of life with a rolling drum track and a pulsating synthy bassline. Watch him live here.
Now normally it would be a matter of principle that any song featuring Akon wouldn’t get a mention here but we are big fans of Jakwob so I guess that balances it out. Anyway, One Day will undoubtedly be a chart smash but here’s a dubstep remix.
Penguin Prison’s The Worse It Gets got covered here recently and now Shook has stepped up and delivered possibly my favourite remix. This house version builds on the originals piano-based topline, puts in a funky synth at the bottom and adds a bit of a guitar solo too. What more could you ask for really?
Another track from The Chemical Brothers’ new album ‘Further’ has surfaced as a youtube video. It’s called ‘Swoon’ and it’s the second one to come out, after Pete Tong debuted ‘Escape Velocity’ last month.
Unlike most of their previous albums, there will be no guest vocals on this one. The Chems have decided to go without it, where in the past they’ve enlisted the talents of Kele from Bloc Party, Klaxons, Fat Lip and The Magic Numbers
Instead, they are planning to accompany each of the 8 songs on the album with a short film. Will be interesting to see how this potentially affects their sound.
Between the two released so far, ‘Escape Velocity’ is the bigger tune, following in the footsteps of the long epic repitition of their latest electronic battle weapon, ‘Midnight Madness’. Swoon is pretty damn good too though.
‘Further’ is out on June 7th. You can pre-order it here.
School of Seven Bells have got the ball rolling on their second album ‘Disconnect from Desire’ with releasing a track from the album for free on their label’s website.
The song, called ‘Babelonia’, sounds very similar to the sounds of their first album ‘Alpinisms’. That’s not a bad thing though. It starts of with quite a long instrumental intro and then breaks into the some of the beautiful vocals we’ve come expect from the equally beautiful twin singers.
The main difference that I can hear in this new song is that the vocals seem more live. Only one of the girls is singing at one time as well, unlike much of the first album.
These English lads must be mates or something because they seem to love remixing each others tunes. Rusko’s Hold On is a massive tune which Sub Focus gives it a slowed down, heavy bass dubstep reworking, as opposed to the down-tempo, funkier original. Rusko then gives his dubstep take to Sub Focus’s Splash which features Coco of I Blame Coco fame.
The originals are both fine productions in their own right so be sure to check them out over at their respective MySpace (links above).
French electro kings Yuksek and Brodinski have teamed up to become The Krays. Named after the infamous east London gangsters, their new track, We’re Ready When You Are, features the London’s Ebony Bones on vocals who seems to be going from strength to strength. In return for featuring on The Krays track, they remixed here latest single Muzik which you can find over at Ratcatchers.
Here’s a remix from Kitsune’s house meastro DJ Medhi:
