The first snippet of Strokes front man Julian Casablancas‘ debut album, ‘Phrazes for the Young’, debuted on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show last night.

The song, titled ’11th Dimension’, has been long awaited from fans of the singer and his band, being the first song to appear from him since ‘First Impressions of Earth’ came out.

The song does actually bear some resemblance to The Strokes third album, with more of a processed and clean sound, rather than the sound of their early loved garage rock days.

I am a fan, even if it does sound a bit cheesy. It reminds me of ‘You Only Live Once’, if the instruments used for that song were replaced with synthesisers and the like. The version isn’t complete, but its good enough for the time being.

I’d still rather hear some true Strokes material though. Cheers to We All Want Someone To Shout For for the heads up.
