Hotcakes introduces… The Big Pink

333The Big Pink (Last.fm/myspace) are going to be big. Their inclusion on the bill for TV on the Radio’s tour this year just goes to show how big.

Here comes the chapperdeemus ‘sounds like’ reference. The band sound like TV on the Radio themselves would sound if they stuck a bit more of an electronic beat on their songs. But the heavy layering of The Big Pink’s music is definitely very reminiscent of Tunde Adebimpe’s experimental rock band.

There’s no album yet, they are putting their songs out there right now with instant acclaim. You heard it here first. Their new album will be a crowd rocker.

Here’s the song that made me an instant fan. The intro is mental. Plus the album art owns. The Strokes eat your heart out.
